If you only had 6 months to live... what would you change about your life?
If you would change something knowing this to be true, then that suggests that something in your life isn’t quite right.
Here's another question for you...
If you were free from the concerns of income, position, fame and others’ opinions... would you still be doing what you are doing?
Again, if you would change something, it suggests that you’re probably living a sub-optimal life.
Both examples show that there is a gap between your current self and the ideal state of living and being that fully reflects your belief in the life to come.
Maybe once you had a lot of passion and great ideas but with life’s challenges and its daily grind, the dreams faded away.
If that’s the case with you, then know that you’re far from being the only one. Most people live this way. That’s the way society has wired us all.
It’s time to put aside what others want you to do and reflect upon what your Lord wants you to do.
It’s time to think more carefully about the influence and impact you want to create.
It’s time to go deep and make meaningful changes in preparation for the Last Day.
But where do you even start?
When you envision life on your own, it’s easy to come up with an impoverished, often self-defeating view because of your past experiences and limited perspective.
But when you put your trust and belief in God, the Infinite One, then you can unlock unimaginable possibilities. You can finally find the meaning you’re searching for and become the next-level leader that your family, friends and community need right now.
But where do you even start? How do you tap into the endless possibilities of God’s capabilities and have the courage to pursue them in your everyday life?
Choose the extraordinary path through life.
If you've done my Transform My Prayer course, you'll identify with the out-of-the-world feeling you get when you devote a short amount of time and really focus on communicating properly with God. The depth of peace, joy and tranquillity you experience is indescribable.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could take that feeling and let it transcend other aspects of your life outside of prayer?
What if you could progress through higher levels of devotion to more extraordinary pursuits?
What if you could devote more of your time and focus on serving God and His cause - attaining happiness, acceptance and reward, and living a life that’s truly meaningful and impactful?
Introducing: Last Day Leader
A transformative 6-week online workshop series to help you discover your life’s mission and pursue your God-given leadership potential.
In this workshop series, you’ll explore meaning and purpose in your life and discover ways to align your day-to-day actions with your devotion to the Divine.
So that when you meet Him on the Last Day, you meet Him with complete confidence that you did your best to make the right choices in life.
You chose not to live aimlessly.
You chose to strive for a greater purpose.
You chose to take up the Prophetic mission.
You chose to live an optimal life, driven by a clear vision.
You chose to live a life that gives you meaning and happiness.
You chose to live a life that is pleasing to you and to God, the Greatest.
You chose a life that’s truly worth living.
It’s not just about the fulfilment of your vision; it’s about the pursuit
Prophets who had only a few followers will never be reduced from their greatness just because they never got to see the fruits of their labour...
What made them great was their clarity of vision, consistent discipline and their undying pursuit of an ideal:
قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Say, “Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for God, Lord of the worlds. (The Qur’an: Chapter 6, Livestock, Verse 162)
You don’t necessarily need to leave your job or dramatically change your life to attain the same. You just need to infuse your life with more purpose and meaning, and start making deeply conscious decisions.
As a result of following your vision, you’ll see doors to new opportunities open up and countless ideas come forward - all you have to do is believe and trust that God will carry you through it.
This workshop series is for you if:
You want this Qur’anic statement to be true for you: “Say, ‘Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are all for God, Lord of all that exists!’”
You want to enhance your understanding of what it means to be a true believer and be supported to make changes in your life to reflect this ideal.
You’re not living your life in the central zone of the Last Day Leader framework i.e. you don’t feel you have the right balance between doing what God wants from you, what the world needs, what you love, what you’re good at and what can sustain you.
You want to fix this imbalance and lead a more optimal and satisfying life, serving the Creator and being of benefit to His creation as best as you can, preparing for the greatest possible outcome in the next life.
What outcomes can I expect?
a greater degree of self-awareness and clarity as to your purpose and direction.
to come up with a written version of your earthly vision that inspires you and best reflects your passion and capabilities.
to generate ideas of alternative ways to live your life and spend your time in a manner that centres you within the Last Day Leader framework.
an experience that integrates Qur’anic and Prophetic guidance with an understanding of the context of living in the 21st century.
your personal challenges and difficult questions to be addressed in a highly practical way.
Nice meeting you...
I’m Iqbal, educator and content creator… former investment banker and non-profit leader. My aim is to help you live a truly God-centered life by achieving connection through prayer, clarity through revelation, and the courage to fulfil your leadership potential. To do this, I deliver transformational educational experiences both online and in-person.
From 2011-2021, I was Project Manager and then Chief Executive of National Zakat Foundation. It has become the UK’s only local Zakat institution with a nationwide reach. In 2019, I was awarded an MBE for services to Tackling Poverty and Community Development. Before I started at NZF, I worked for over five years in the investment banking industry as an equity analyst. I abandoned my successful career to serve God’s cause instead.
I have an MA in Economics and Management from Cambridge University and an MSc in Voluntary Sector Management from Cass Business School.
I am an experienced public speaker, having given hundreds of talks and Friday sermons on a variety of subjects relating to Islam. I have been studying the Arabic language from a very young age. I memorised the Qur’an and have an official license for the accurate recitation of the Qur’an with an unbroken chain of teachers back to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
I live in London with my wife and four children. To them, and especially to my parents, I am forever indebted for their patience, encouragement and support.

Uplifting, encouraging, reinforcing. I particularly liked Iqbal's knowledge of the world from a religious point of view and his ability to articulate it. Sharing your personal story in the last session was particularly motivating, inspiring and encouraging, something I hope to share with our 3 boys. Everything you have done so far has been of very high quality, I look forward to taking part in many more things you develop and present, whether that be online or in-person inshaa Allah. - Naveed Jamil
The course was provocative, illuminating and empowering. I loved the framework and tools in order to be able to carry on the necessary work myself. I also loved the engaging and insightful facilitation/delivery, and the urgent call to action to change my life NOW. Really insightful, beneficial course - thank you for caring enough to put this together. - Zeenat Islam
It was nice to be with others who feel stuck or feeling unfulfilled, not feeling alone. I think there is a real appetite for this, please run some more sessions. Thank you so much. - Bilkis Islam-Ali
Inspiring, motivating, necessary. This course is a much-needed kick up the backside. Worthwhile, beneficial and life-changing. - Ayesha Ikhlef
The course was insightful, thought-provoking and grounding. I benefitted from the Quranic references and reminders of the purpose of life. The prioritising of goals was also useful as well as hearing the experiences of the instructor and other participants. It's encouraging to see young (relative to me!) Muslims thinking about their direction and committing time to it. - Kashif Barlas
I liked the one on one interaction with the instructor and positive energy through the course content. I always thought about this topic in terms of what I love and my passion but you taught me that skill set is also an important part of the game. Your course helped me understand what not to do i.e I was pursuing something which was not even the fit for me and therefore I wasn't going anywhere. I feel like I am close to finding my purpose with a couple more experiments. - Saoud Hussain
I found the course thought-provoking, inspirational and beneficial. Hearing the instructor's personal experiences was the best part. - Ahsan Latif
Conscious, positive, deep. I particularly loved the reflection on ayahs from the Quran.
Thought-provoking, Informative, enjoyable. The interactions and ability to discuss and talk openly was great. I also liked the Quranic references to always bring it back to the why & the bigger picture. JZK for all the time and effort that you have put into helping others. - Aniqah Ali
The course was very enlightening, positive and thought-provoking. It made me understand what Allah swt expects from me beyond the basics. Great mentorship in a very relaxed, no pressure forum. Jazak Allah Khair for your efforts. We need more people to raise awareness about what Allah swt expects from us. "People are asleep."
