A lesson from a launch

INsights 075, Friday 2nd May 2025

I’m excited to announce the imminent launch of my new podcast: In Good Faith.

For the foreseeable future, this will be the main public medium through which I’ll be sharing and exploring the principles and practicalities of the God-centred life.

Episode 1 is scheduled to go live on YouTube and Spotify this Sunday 4th May
, with shorts and clips coming out on other platforms in the following days, God willing.

It’s been an intense journey to get to this stage and there are still lots of last-minute things to sort out, so I’m going to keep this edition of INsights very short with just one reflection from the launch process.

Be authentic

I’ve been toying with the idea of a more conscious and proactive social media presence to amplify my work for a long time.

I’m conscious that my ideas on prayer, giving and leadership have influenced less than 1% of the people who could benefit from them… and that social media is the obvious way to expand one’s reach.

I have made some attempts before but it’s all been very inconsistent.

I think that’s because prior efforts felt unnatural to me.

I don’t like talking to the camera when there’s no one listening or watching live.

I don’t enjoy the idea of managing multiple platforms of communication and getting lost in the noise.

Although I somehow manage to string some words together on occasion, even writing doesn’t feel like the easiest way for me to communicate.

So what really helped me pull the trigger this time was moving forward on the basis of a format that would feel most authentic: talking to people in person!

Who would have known? 😅

Reflecting on all my past efforts, this is where I feel most at home and where I am most fully myself.

So the conversational podcast medium felt like the obvious basis on which to move forward.

The lesson is that there are many ways to contribute to a vision. But you need to find the way that feels most intuitive, easy and enjoyable to you.

That’s how you’ll be able to keep your efforts up consistently over time, doing what looks like work to others but feels like play to you

In a world where everyone and everything is pulling you in their direction, what should be the easiest task – being authentic and true to oneself – often feels like the hardest.

But that’s what life is about: aligning with the divine, discovering one’s true nature, setting one’s sights on a worthy goal, then pursuing it in line with one’s passion, skills and intuitions.

In a nutshell: make sure your life journey is your life journey.

Thank you

I look forward to sharing Episode 1 with you and taking the public conversation about the God-centred life well and truly to the next level.

A massive thank you for any way in which you have helped me to get to this juncture.

I am grateful for all the engagement, encouragement, feedback, constructive criticism, financial contributions and prayers in recent weeks, months and years.

I ask our Lord to make this new venture a genuine source of illumination and a means of facilitating greater levels of godliness and goodness in our lives and the lives of many, many more.

Until next time.

Peace.

Iqbal
